My Brother Twinkie

The past couple of days I have been thinking a lot about my brother Twinkie that died on Feb. 21, 2009. I didn't get to go to his funeral because I was up in Salt Lake have emergency surgery. He was 32 years old when he died. He was just starting his life. He had moved down to a friends house in St. George the first part of Feb. That is were he died. He was looking for a job as a cook down there. He was the best cook ever. He knew his way around a kitchen. And that is kind of funny because if you hung out with him, you would of not thought of him that way. Cooking was his love of his life. Twink was really great with kids. He loved his two nephews, Cash and Max with all his heart. He was a giant teddy bear and they knew it. I am heart broken that Connor will never get to know and play with his Uncle Twinkie. Connor was born on his birthday and I think that my brother had something to do with that since I was not due until the 5th of July. Twink was a great man and I will always remember him..

Connor and Daddy!!

The other day I walked into my room and this is how Connor and Herm were sleeping. He is a great dad and loves that little boy so much. I don't know what I would do without him.

Connor Not Happy!!

The past couple of days, Connor has not been a happy boy.. I don't know what is going on with him. He just wants to be mad and make sure everyone know that he is here.. Today he is a month and a half old. Time does fly. It seems like yesterday that we were at the hospital having him..

My Poor Kitty!!!

Herm got something up his butt and shaved my cat. He said that he was tired of all the hair around the house. Herm was trying to shave Milo like a lion and he didn't do to bad of a job. But he still looks really funny..

Connor's First Bath!!!

Connor got his first bath on the 15th of July 2009. I was nerves about doing it, but I did OK. Connor on the other hand did not like it so much. But now with his bathes, he just kicks back and enjoys the ride...

Connor's First 4th of July!

Connor had his first 4th of July. He went to Moroni's parade and then after that we walked up the the ball field to the carnival. After that we all went to my Grandma's for lunch. Everyone up there just loved on him. After that we went to my mom's and sat outside until it got dark and then we went to my brother's house to do our fireworks and wait for Moroni City to do there's. The wind started to blow really hard and it started to rain. So Moroni City canceled the fireworks. We were all disappointed. So we went home. Connor had a really good day.. Oh and Moroni City did there fireworks a week later..

Our First Day's Home!

It was weird coming home from the hospital with a baby. You see, it has been me and Herm for over 10 years and now we have this bundle of joy in our house. And you know that he is in the house. We got home and our cats did not know what to think. They stayed away from Connor for a good week or so. But now they seem to be OK with him. The first night home was kind of hard. Connor did not want to sleep and I could barely keep my eyes open. I woke up Herm around 3 in the morning and told him that I needed sleep and if he would get up with him so I could. And he did.. He is a amazing husband. Herm is really good with Connor. And he was the first one to change a pooping diaper. After the first night, things started to slow down. Connor started to sleep and I started to feel better day by day. A lot of people started to bring us dinners. I didn't have to cook dinner for a week after. That was great.. I have wonderful family and friends.

The BIG Day!!!

Well it all started on Father's Day. Me and my family all went up to my Grandma's house for dinner. Dinner was at 4 in the afternoon. So we ate and when we got done, we all went outside and sat on the porch and talked. Me and Herm were going to go down to wal-mart, but I had to go and use the bathroom first.. I went in and my water started to break. So everyone was leaving and I told Herm that we needed to go home and get our stuff and go to the hospital. He asked why and I told him that my water is starting to break. He asked me if it was the real thing. You see, we went over to the hospital a couple of times the past weeks and nothing. So we were getting discouraged. So we headed over to the hospital and my doctor came in at 6:30 that night and said that we were not going to leave this time, that we are having a baby. The doctor told me that if I had not stated into labor by 7 in the morning, that he was going to put me on the pit and speed things up a little. Well nothing happen, so they put me on the pit. By 3 o'clock in the afternoon on June 22, 2009, I started to push. At 4:39 p.m., we got Connor Scott Olsen. He weight 8 lbs and 2 oz and was 21 1/2 inches. He was born on my late brother Twinkie's birthday. That day will always be very special to me. He was doing great, but I was not. I started to bleed out and the doctor did not think he could stop it, but he did. So we didn't have to go in the OR. I really don't remember much until later that night. We had to stay in the hospital for 5 days because of me losing a lot of blood and Connor had jaundice and had to stay under lights. That was the greats day of mine and Herms life. We got our baby boy!!!
